La cittadina lituana di Marijampole, nel sud est del Paese, ha ospitato dal 27 al 29 aprile 2022 il secondo meeting del progetto Erasmus+ “ORNAT2000”, imperniato sulla conoscenza delle aree “Natura2000” tramite la pratica dell’orienteering, con un particolare occhio di riguardo all’inclusione sociale, quindi valorizzando il “Trail-O”, cioè la specialità dell’orienteering più inclusiva di tutte.
Nel corso della tre giorni lituana i rappresentanti dei partner del progetto hanno prima fatto il punto della situazione sullo stato dell’arte delle diverse azioni previste per poi passare a conoscere l’interessante realtà del centro giovanile di Marijampole, che vede centinaia di giovani impegnati in svariate attività extrascolastiche, una delle quali è proprio l’orienteering.
Un paradiso ambientale, in particolare per le specie di uccelli migratori, è la Biosfera UNESCO di “Zuvintas”, area “Natura2000” che abbiamo potuto ammirare e conoscere grazie anche alla visita guidata al centro visitatori del parco.
E proprio nella zona della riserva “Natura2000” è stato organizzato l’evento locale di Trail-O che ha visto impegnati, oltre ai rappresentanti dei partner di progetto, un centinaio di ragazzi del centro di Marijampole.
Second ORNAT2000 transnational meeting in Marijampole (Lithuania)
The Lithuanian town of Marijampole, in the southeast of the country, hosted from April 27 to 29, 2022 the second meeting of the Erasmus+ project “ORNAT2000,” focused on the knowledge of “Natura2000” areas through the practice of orienteering, with a special focus on social inclusion, thus enhancing “Trail-O,” that is, the most inclusive orienteering specialty of all.
During the three-day Lithuanian event, representatives of the project partners first took stock of the state of the art of the various actions planned and then went on to learn about the interesting reality of the Marijampole youth center, which sees hundreds of young people engaged in a variety of extracurricular activities, one of which is precisely orienteering.
An environmental paradise, especially for migratory bird species, is the UNESCO Biosphere of “Zuvintas,” a “Natura2000” area that we were able to admire and learn about thanks in part to the guided tour of the park’s visitor center.
And it was precisely in the area of the “Natura2000” reserve that the local Trail-O event was organized, which involved, in addition to representatives of the project partners, about 100 young people from the Marijampole center.
